Street Songs
(2015-2018)
David McIntosh
Street Songs was a series of briefly shared moments where thoughts are performed as songs unsung, for encountered audiences of one, or more, at a time.
The work devolved in form over three years – from a trio, to a duet, to an installation – and explored different ways of embodying presence, and absence. This Project is now complete.
Originally developed in Vancouver and Montreal. Subsequently devolved in Vancouver, Montreal, Venice, Porto d’Ascoli, London, Edinburgh, Dusseldorf, Bonn, Meckenheim, and Altenahr.
This very table which we see white, and which we feel hard, is believed to exist independent of our perception and to be something external to our mind which perceives it. Our presence bestows not being on it; our absence does not annihilate it. – David Hume
